April 16, 2024 -
Um incêndio arrasou o famoso edifício da Bolsa de Copenhaga, que
estava a ser remodelado. Os ocupantes e serviços de emergência juntaram forças para salvar artefactos históricos das chamas.
Denmark's historic Børsen in the centre of Copenhagen – a former stock exchange building dating back to 1625 – has been severely damaged in a fire.
No casualties have been reported, with people inside the building, which was undergoing renovations at the time, able to escape. Members of the public and emergency services joined forces to save historic artefacts from the flames.
The 17th Century structure is one of the city’s oldest and most famous buildings, popular with tourists and noted for its distinctive 56-metre spire, shaped like the tails of four dragons intertwined – alas now destroyed in the inferno,
The building sits alongside Christiansborg Palace, the seat of the Danish parliament (known as the Folketing), which appears to have been unharmed.
Culture minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt said 400 years of Danish cultural heritage had gone up in flames.
