Diamantes mais raros vendidos em leilão
March 30, 2023 - June 8, 2023 -
O Diamante Rosa Eterno, uma jóia perfeita de 10,57 quilates, poderá
ultrapassar os $35 milhões na Sotheby’s, podendo fixar um novo recorde para o preço mais alto por quilate.
Sotheby’s will feature the 10.57-carat cushion-cut stone in its magnificent jewels auction on June 8 in New York.
Mined by De Beers at the Damtshaa mine in Botswana in 2019, the raw 23.78-carat diamond was cut and polished by diamond company Diacore’s team in New York over six months.
The Williamson Pink Star set the record price per carat. This 11.15-carat fancy vivid pink diamond was sold in October 2022 at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong for US$5.2 million per carat, or for a total of $57.73 million (HK$453.2 million). But it had a presale estimate of $1.9 million per carat, according to Barron’s Daily.
Pink diamonds are one of the rarest coloured diamonds on earth. Of all the diamonds submitted to the Gemological Institute of America for grading, less than 3% are classified as coloured diamonds. Within these coloured diamonds, less than 5% are considered predominantly pink.
Pink diamonds have also become some of the most valuable jewels sold at auction, with three pink diamonds -- CTF Pink Star ($71.2 million), the Williamson Pink Star ($57.7 million and Graff Vivid Pink ($46.0 million) -- taking up the top five highest-priced diamonds ever sold at auction, according to Sotheby’s.
