December 2, 2022 - O Conselho de Segurança da Ucrânia propôs a ilegalização dos grupos religiosos de filiação russa, incluindo a Igreja Ortodoxa do Patriarcado de Moscovo.

Recent raids on the church HQ allegedly found xenophobic content and booklets denying Ukraine’s right to independence and claiming that Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus are part of a single nation. In May, the church said it would have full independence from Moscow but under Orthodox rules each country can only have one independent church, meaning it would have had to merge with the existing Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
