May 9, Philippines: Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., son of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, looks set to revive the family’s political fortunes by winning the presidential election.

May 9, United States: A portrait of Marilyn Monroe by 1960s pop icon Andy Warhol is expected to sell for around $200 million, which would make it the most expensive 20th century painting ever sold at auction.

“Abba-tars” of the band, opens in London.

May 29, Colombia: Gustavo Petro, a former leftist guerilla who later became mayor of Bogotá, is the
frontrunner to win the presidential election, marking a notable political shift in the country.
