França vai expulsar mais de 200 extremistas religiosos estrangeiros

October 19, 2020 - A França prepara-se para expulsar mais de 200 extremistas estrangeiros
depois de um professor ter sido decapitado por um radical de origem russa.

France is to expel 231 foreigners residing in France, whose details are held on a government watch list of suspected religious extremists.

The move follows the decapitation of a school history teacher on Oct 16, by an 18-year-old Chechen refugee living in France.

President Emmanuel Macron’s government has been under increasing pressure to take a tougher stance on foreigners seen as a security threat.

Of the total number of suspects to be expelled, 180 people are in prison, with 51 living freely in France – who are now to be arrested.

France has suffered a litany of extremist attacks in recent years that have killed hundreds of civilians and police.
