Mortes em acidentes de aviação caíram mais de 50% em 2019

By Ninian Carter

January 2, 2020 - O número de mortes em desastres aéreos em todo o mundo baixaram
mais de metade em 2019, segundo a consultora de aviação holandesa To70.

The number of fatalities from large commercial aeroplane crashes fell by more than 50% in 2019, according to Dutch aviation consulting firm To70.

They state that there were 86 accidents involving large commercial planes last year, resulting in 257 fatalities. In 2018, there were 160 accidents, including 13 fatal ones, resulting in 534 deaths. This equates to a rate of just 0.18 fatal accidents per million flights in 2019, or to express it another way – one fatal accident per 5.58 million flights.

The numbers include people onboard the plane as well as anyone killed on the ground. The large passenger aeroplanes in the study are aircraft used by nearly all travellers on airlines worldwide, excluding smaller commuter aircraft.
