Bloodhound aumenta a velocidade

November 7, 2019 - O carro supersónico britânico Bloodhound LSR alcançou a sua mais
alta velocidade até agora num teste em Hakskeen Pan, na África do Sul.

The speed, recorded on Wednesday, is an important milestone for the Bloodhound project, which is attempting to break the current land speed record of of 763mph (1,228km/h). That attempt won’t happen for at least a year in order to allow time for more testing.

Bloodhound is currently powered by a Eurofighter jet engine, which delivers about nine tonnes of thrust – enough to reach speeds of up to 650mph (1,050km/h). For the record attempt, the addition of a rocket motor will hopefully send the car through the sound barrier and ultimately past 1,000mph (1,600km/h).
