Petroleiro iraniano procurado pelos EUA está ao largo do Líbano

By Mike Tyler

September 2, 2019 - Um petroleiro iraniano procurado pelos EUA que tem navegado pelo
Mediterrâneo está agora ao largo de Tripoli no norte do Líbano, segundo o portal de seguimento de navios MarineTraffic.

The Adrian Darya 1 was moving slowly just outside Lebanese territorial waters on Monday, after it had stood off the coast of Syria a day earlier.

The ship’s Automatic Identification System does not show its destination after its mariners onboard previously listed it as ports in Greece and Turkey. Turkey’s foreign minister at one point suggested it would go to Lebanon, something denied by Lebanese officials.

On Friday, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo claimed that the vessel was still bound for Syria.

The U.S. has warned countries not to accept the tanker, which carries 2.1 million barrels of crude oil worth some $130 million.

The Adrian Darya 1, previously known as Grace 1, was detained by British authorities in Gibraltar in July after it was suspected of moving oil to Syria in breach of EU sanctions.
