Os sempre rivais Manchester United e Chelsea começam a época com um encontro de pesos pesados em Old Trafford, enquanto o Tottenham Hotspur recebe o Aston Villa. A última das equipas promovidas, Sheffield United -- de regresso à Premier League pela primeira vez desde 2007 -- inicia a época com uma viagem a Bournemouth.
