Kramp-Karrenbauer – frontrunner to replace Angela Merkel as leader of Germany’s biggest political party – has also said the EU and United States should consider barring entry to Russian ships originating from the Sea of Azov in response to the incident, according to a Reuters report.
The $11billion Nord Stream 2 project, led by Russia’s Gazprom, aims to double capacity of the existing Nord Stream pipeline from late 2019, bypassing traditional routes through Ukraine.
