June 12, 2018 - O Gasoduto Trans-Anatólia (TANAP) – destinado a levar o gás natural
azeri até à Turquia e UE – é a ligação central no chamado Corredor de Gás do Sul destinado a reduzir a dependência da Europa do gás da Rússia.

The TANAP project will enter into service on June 12, according to Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister, Berat Albayrak.

Running from eastern Turkey to the Greek border, the pipeline is the longest section of the $40bn Southern Gas Corridor, which will bring Caspian gas across Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea to southern Italy.

The initial capacity of TANAP is expected to be 16 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas per year, gradually increasing to 31 bcm. Around 6 bcm of gas will be delivered to Turkey and the remaining volume will be supplied to Europe.
