June 27, 2013 - June 28, 2013 - European Union leaders will meet in Brussels on Thursday and Friday to discuss the growing problem of youth unemployment which rose in April to 23%. In Spain, unemployment surged past 56% and Greece now leads the rich world with 62.5% of its youth workforce out of a job. In addition to 5.6 million young people officially jobless, there are 7.5 million Europeans aged 15 and 24 who are not employed, not in education and not in training (NEETs).
