Voormalig spionnenchef Noord-Korea naar Washington voor gesprekken
May 30, 2018 -- Voormalig spionnenchef vanNoord-Korea Kim Yong Chol arriveert in New York for besprekingen over een op henden zijnde top tussen de Amerikaanse president Donald Trump en de Noord-Koreaanse leider Kim Jong-un.
General Kim, 72, is a controversial figure in neighbouring South Korea, and previously served as a negotiator in inter-Korean talks.
He is believed to have masterminded numerous attacks on South Korea, including the sinking of the Cheonan military vessel in 2010, which killed 46 sailors.
Kim Yong Chol has been closely involved with talks with South Korea as well and his visit to the United States would further indicate preparations for the historic summit are moving ahead.
