On this day in history “auto-updating”
January 29-May 5, 2018 -- Graphic shows anniversaries and events on this day in history.
The graphic is constructed like an “interactive” graphic, but is not “interactive” in the sense that the viewer can change the events displayed; instead it “interacts” with the clock on your computer or mobile and this determines the selection shown. So If you look tomorrow, it will show a different picture and selection of events to that shown today.
The graphic is responsive so if you view on a mobile phone it will look as good, but different, from the version seen if you view on your larger tablet or computer screen.
The events shown and images are the same as on the GN On This Day print graphics.
As the events are selected to have a wide international interest, you may wish to substitute some with a more national or local interest. This is easy to do as the images and words are stored in separate files external to the html. (Instructions available - See sources below). You could use alternative data selected from the GN On This Day database which is available online.
The data for future weeks is made available in parallel to the print graphic. All you will have to do is “top up” the data.
