July 14, 2024 - A gunman armed with a semiautomatic rifle narrowly missed former President Donald Trump as he addressed a rally in Pennsylvania. One woman was killed and two other spectators injured.

Trump was rushed offstage by security forces, with only minor injuries to his right ear, and has since returned to his home in New Jersey.

The gunman, shot and killed at the scene by the Secret Service, has been identified by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, a registered Republican.
