Noord-Korea en Rusland ondertekenen wederzijds defensiepact
June 19, 2024 - The leaders of North Korea and Russia have signed an agreement that deepens their military cooperation to include a mutual defence pledge to help each other if attacked.
The inclusion of a mutual defence clause in their comprehensive strategic partnership, which Kim described as an “alliance”, will add to the west’s alarm over growing economic and military ties between North Korea and Russia.
Pyongyang and Moscow have ramped up diplomatic and economic exchanges in recent months, culminating in Putin’s visit to North Korea for the first time in 24 years.
