Wereldwijde temperaturen op hoogste niveau ooit gemeten
March 7, 2024 - The month of February 2024 was globally the warmest ever recorded, according to data from the EU’s Copernicus programme, registering an average temperature 1.8°C higher than the pre-industrial average.
February 2024 was the ninth consecutive month to log the warmest average global temperature, according to the EU’s Copernicus Earth observation agency.
Every month since June 2023, has recorded a new temperature high – February’s was 1.8°C warmer than the pre-industrial period average.
In fact, the average global temperature for the past 12 months is the highest ever documented, at 1.6°C above the pre-industrial average, aided in part by a 1.1% rise in carbon dioxide emissions during that time.
