December 31, 2023 - The movie industry had to contend with actor and writer strikes this year. But the WGA and SAG-AFTRA disputes, which caused production delays, are now over. The coming year brings the second half of Frank Herbert’s epic sci-fi novel, Dune, a highly anticipated musical adaptation of Mean Girls, a ninth Alien instalment, and much more.

1. Dune: Part Two. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, starring: Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård. Villeneuve tells the second half of Frank Herbert’s epic sci-fi novel.

2. Mickey 17. Directed by Bong Joon-ho, starring: Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, Steven Yeun. South Korea’s Bong follows up his Academy Award-winning film Parasite with an adaptation of Edward Ashton’s sci-fi novel about expendable clones sent to colonise distant worlds.
