Netflix prijsverhogingen voor "Basic"- en "Premium"-abonnementen

By Ninian Carter

October 19, 2023 - Netflix has announced significant price increases to two of its four subscription tiers, reflecting the firm’s boldness after adding nine million new subscribers in the past three months.

In a note to shareholders on October 18, Netflix announced that subscription prices are to rise for two of its four plans in the United States, UK and France.

The “Basic” level, which incidentally is no longer offered to new or rejoining subscribers, rises from $10 to $12 (€11/£8) per month, while the “Premium” service jumps from $20 to $23 (€20/£18) a month.

“Netflix with adverts”, the cheapest tier at $7 (€6/£5) per month, and the “Standard” plan, at $15.50 (€13.50/£11) per month, remain unaltered.

The increases reflect the firm’s growing confidence, after adding nine million subscribers from July to September, 2023.
