Verstappen pakt derde wereldtitel op rij
October 9, 2023 - Red Bull’s Max Verstappen’s relentless drive to his third successive world drivers’ championship has firmly established the flying Dutchman as one of the modern Formula 1 icons.
Verstappen made his F1 debut in 2015 for Toro Rosso at age 17 -- the youngest ever F1 driver. Joining Red Bull a year later, winning his first race for the team in Barcelona.
In 2021, he seized his first Formula 1 World Championship with a dramatic final lap victory over Lewis Hamilton, in a contentious climax to their season-long title duel in Abu Dhabi. Before repeating the feat in 2022, with new records for most wins (15) and points (454) in single season.
Verstappen, 25, is the youngest F1 driver to surpass Aryton Senna on 41 wins -- Sebastian Vettel was 28, Lewis Hamilton 30, and Michael Schumacher 31, while Senna himself was 33.
