August 22, 2023 - Each month Graphic News publishes a World Agenda of forthcoming events that will shape the world in the month ahead. Events in September include Singapore choosing a new president.

Sep 1-4: Pope Francis visits Mongolia,a country with just 1,450 Catholics.

Sep 6: Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador’s ruling Morena party announces its candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

Sep 7: A jumper worn by Diana, Princess of Wales is predicted to sell for up to $80,000 at Sotheby’s in New York.

Sep 8: The Rugby World Cup kicks off with a spectacular opening match between host nation France and three-time champions New Zealand at the Stade de France.

Sep 9-10: The G20 summit takes place in New Delhi, with the Ukraine war and the disruption in global food and fuel supplies expected to be high on the agenda.

Sep 24: NASA’s OSIRIS-REx, the first U.S. mission to collect samples from an asteroid, returns to Earth with material from the asteroid Bennu.

Sep 29: The Sphere, the world’s largest spherical structure, opens in Las Vegas with a live performance by U2.
