Russische invasie: Situatie dag 359
February 17, 2023 - Leaders from around the world gather in Munich to survey a European security landscape transformed by Russia's invasion of Ukraine as fighting rages on in the east of the country.
Russia launched a fresh series of missile strikes on infrastructure facilities across Ukraine, including the country’s largest oil refinery at Kremenchuk.
Meanwhile, Russian forces continued their offensive northwest of Svatove and near Kreminna and rockets hit a residential district of Bakhmut, killing three men and two women.
Ukrainian data released this week suggested Russian troops in Ukraine were dying in greater numbers this month than at any time since the first week of their invasion. The figures cannot be verified, but the UK’s Ministry of Defence said the trends were “likely accurate”.
