November 15, 2022 - The global population is projected to reach 8 billion, according to projections from the United Nations. More than half of all people live in just seven countries.

These seven countries are: China, India, United States, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria and Brazil.

Although China currently has the world’s largest population, India is expected to become the most populated country in 2023.

The UN's “medium'”estimates for population growth suggest that the global population will reach 9.7 billion in 2050 and 10.4 billion in 2100.
