October 18, 2022 - A New York Times poll ahead of the U.S. midterm elections on November 8 finds the Republican party has taken a narrow lead.

With just three weeks to go until the U.S. midterm elections, a New York Times/Siena poll of likely voters finds the Republican party is just ahead as concerns over the economy weigh heavily on voters’ minds.

The poll determines that 49% of likely voters plan to vote for a Republican to represent them in Congress on November 8, compared with 45% who plan to vote for a Democrat.

Rising inflation and declining stocks are making the economy the number one concern for voters, who in turn believe Republicans are better equipped to deal with the matter.
