September 6, 2022 - Russia has been forced to buy military hardware from North Korea as sanctions squeeze Moscow’s ability to supply Ukraine’s invasion, U.S. media reports.

According to declassified intelligence obtained by the New York Times, Russia has bought millions of artillery shells and rockets from Pyongyang.

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian offensive in the south has prompted Russian-appointed authorities in Kherson Oblast to postpone a “referendum” on joining Russia.

Also, the UN nuclear watchdog is due to issue a report on the Zaporizhya nuclear power plant in Ukraine, a day after shelling cut its electricity supplies for the second time in two weeks and raised fears of a catastrophe.
