Zal Flo-Jo's 100m-record eindelijk sneuvelen?

By Chris Dinsdale

July 15, 2022 - July 24, 2022 - The 18th IAAF World Championships in Athletics take place at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, United States. Elaine Thompson-Herah is aiming to break Florence Griffith-Joyner’s 34-year-old 100m World Record at the 2022 Athletics World Championships

The Jamaican sprinter, Elaine Thompson-Herah, capped a stellar 2021 by breaking Griffith-Joyner’s 100m Olympic Record en route to a historic “double double” at the Tokyo Olympics, to retain both the 100m and 200m sprint titles. Then, at a Diamond League meeting in Eugene, she posted a time of 10.54, to become the second-fastest woman of all time.

In the fastest women’s 100m races in history, Griffith-Joyner and Thompson-Herah appear seven times between them -- an emerging rivalry across the ages.
