Uitspraak in proces over aanslagen Parijs 2015

By Jordi Bou

June 29, 2022 - Judges hand out their verdict in the trial of France’s worst peacetime attack, the 2015 killing of 130 people in a coordinated gun-and-bomb rampage by Islamist gunmen across Paris.

The Bataclan music hall, six bars and restaurants and the perimeter of the Stade de France stadium were targeted on the evening of November 13, 2015, in attacks that shook France and left deep scars on the country’s psyche.

A special secure court was built for the 10-month trial, the largest trial in modern French history.

Inside, a court was judging 20 people – six of them in absentia – on charges of participating in or facilitating France's worst terror attacks since the end of World War II.

Salah Abdeslam, the main suspect, started the trial by proudly saying he was a “soldier” of Islamic State, which has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but later apologised to the victims.
