Wust wint vijfde individuele gouden medaille

February 7, 2022 - The 2022 winter Olympic Games, officially known as the XXIV Olympic Winter Games, take place in Beijing, China. Dutch speed skater Ireen Wust, 35, has become the first athlete to win an individual gold medal at five different Olympics -- summer or winter -- setting an OIympic record to retain her 1500m title.

Wust is the most decorated Olympic speed skater of all time, having claimed her first Olympic title in Turin in 2006. She can further increase
hee medal tally in 1000m even on February 17.

Norwegian Marit Bjorgen holds the record for the most medals at the Winter Olympics, with a haul of 15 cross-country skiing medals.
