January 28, 2022 - A race against time is under way for the U.S. Navy to recover an F-35 fighter jet that fell into the sea – before the Chinese get there first.

The $100m F35C stealth jet sank in the South China Sea on Monday after what the Navy describes as a “landing mishap” on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier.
