February 3, 2022 - February 12, 2022 - Champions from five continental competitions plus nominated teams from Oceania and host nation United Arab Emirates compete to become the Champion of Champions at the 2021 edition of the FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi.

The five continental champions are Al Ahly (Africa), Al Hilal (Asia), Chelsea (Europe), Monterrey (North, Central America and Caribbean), and Palmeiras (South America). Al Jazira represents the host nation, while AS Pirae (French Polynesia) are nominated to take the Oceania berth.

UEFA Champions League holders Chelsea target their first Club World Cup trophy, after defeat in the 2012 final, but will face tough competition from Copa Libertadores winners Palmeiras. Since the establishment of the tournament in 2000, European teams have won 13 of 17 titles.

The annual FIFA Club World Cup features the champions of the six continental football leagues’ top competitions – CAF Champions League (Africa), AFC Champions League (Asia), UEFA Champions League (Europe), CONCACAF Champions League (North, Central America and Caribbean), OFC Champions League (Oceania) and Copa Libertadores (South America), plus a team from the host nation.
