Honderden doden op door tyfoon getroffen Filipijnen
December 21, 2021 - The death toll from the strongest typhoon to batter the Philippines this year has climbed to at least 375, with more than 50 others still missing after the storm carved a trail of destruction last week.
Philippine officials and residents of areas that bore the brunt of the typhoon pleaded for food, water, and shelter on Tuesday as damaged roads, flooding, and severed power and communication lines hampered relief efforts, Reuters said.
The storm has affected 1.8 million people, displacing 630,000 of them, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
