5 nNov: ABBA’s negende studio-album uitgebracht

By Ninian Carter

November 5, 2021 - Pop sensation ABBA are back with a new studio album, “Voyage” – the band’s first new music since the release of “The Visitors” in 1981.

ABBA, the Swedish pop group that won the Eurovision Song Contest with “Waterloo” in 1974, and subsequently the hearts of popular music listeners around the world for decades, say they are retiring (again) and that their upcoming album, Voyage, will be their last.

Speaking to the UK’s Guardian newspaper, Benny Andersson, 74, and Bjorn Ulvaeus, 76, said there will be no more music from the foursome following the album’s release, and the start of digital concerts in London next year, that feature life-like digital versions of the foursome in all the 1970s glory.

Voyage, the group’s ninth studio album, is released on Friday, November 5, 2021.

The Voyage concert opens on Friday, May 27, 2022, at a custom-built, temporary 3,000-capacity arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London.
