August 6, 2021 - May 22, 2022 - Premier League champions Manchester City have signed England star Jack Grealish, 25, from Aston Villa for a British record £100m. Grealish, who leaves Aston Villa after joining the club aged six, becomes the ninth most expensive player of all time.

The 30th Premier League season kicks off, with fierce rivalries played out over 380 enthralling matches. The world’s most watched football league drew an estimated cumulative global audience of 3.2 billion in 2019.

Jack Grealish becomes the most expensive English Premier League signing, at £100m, surpassing fees paid for: Paul Pogba (Man Utd, £93.25m), Romelu Lukaku (Man Utd, £90m), Harry Maguire (Man Utd, £80m), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool, £75m), Jadon Sancho (Man Utd, £73m) and Nicolas Pepe (Arsenal, £72m).

Brazilian sensation Neymar retains the World Record fee paid, transferring from Barcelona to Paris St. Germain, for £198m, in 2017.
