Wie wordt de volgende leider van Labour?

January 13, 2020 - Vijf kandidaten hebben zich genomineerd voor de opvolging van
Jeremy Corbyn als de leider van de Britse oppositiepartij Labour, nadat ze de steun van hun collegsá hebben gekregen.

Sir Keir Starmer, Rebecca Long-Bailey, Lisa Nandy, Jess Phillips and Emily Thornberry received the required 22 nominations from MPs and MEPs to win a place on the ballot paper.

A sixth candidate, Clive Lewis, withdrew shortly before the deadline after failing to secure enough votes.

The prospective leaders now need to gain backing from Constituency Labour Parties and unions, where they will need at least five percent from either.

A postal ballot of Labour Party members will then run from February 21 to April 2, with the result being announced two days later on Saturday April 4.
