ATP Finals 2019

By Chris Dinsdale

November 10, 2019 - November 17, 2019 - The Nitto ATP World Tour Finals take place in London, featuring the world’s top eight-ranked players. Rafael Nadal, 33, could become the oldest player to top the year-end rankings if he wins the tournament, but the 19-time Grand Slam champion faces a tough challenge to hold off Novak Djokovic and other top rivals if he is to win the season-ending showpiece for the first time.

The season-ending ATP World Tour Finals in London are played between the top eight players with the most ranking points collected during the calendar year. Points that contribute to the Race to London ranking are accumulated in the Grand Slam, ATP World Tour (ATP World Tour Masters 1000, ATP World Tour 500 series, and ATP World Tour 250 series), and Davis Cup tournaments.

Ranking points are awarded for each event - ranging from 2,000 for the winner of a Grand Slam tournament to 250 for the winner of a 250 series event.

The format of the ATP World Tour Finals sees eight players divided into two groups of four who each play three round-robin matches against the other players in their group. The two players with the best records in each group progress to the semifinals, with the winners meeting in the final to determine the champion.
