Meerderheid Amerikanen steunen onderzoek door Congres

By Ninian Carter

September 30, 2019 - More than half of Americans say they think Congress opening an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump is necessary, according to a CBS News poll

More than 50 percent of Americans — and somewhat unsurprisingly, almsot 90 percent of Democrats — approve of the Congress impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

Predictably, most Democrats call the president's handling of matters with Ukraine illegal, and deserving of impeachment, whereas most Republicans call his actions proper or, even if improper, then still within the bounds of the law.

Almost nine in 10 Democrats approve of the inquiry. Just under a third of Americans say Trump’s dealings with Ukraine may have been improper but were nonetheless still legal. Just over a quarter, including most Republicans, think the president acted properly.
