Chinese economie groeit langzaamst sinds 1992

July 16, 2019 - De groei van de Chinese economie valt terug naar het laagste niveau sinds 1992, nu het lijdt onder de langdurige handelsoorlog met de grootste economie ter wereld, de VS

China's GDP grew at 6.2% in the second quarter of 2019, the slowest quarterly growth rate since 1992 (down from 6.4% in Q1), and it will continue to face a downward trend during the rest of the year, the country's National Bureau of Statistics said in a statement.

The disappointing figures arrive on top of a fall in both exports and imports for the first six months of this year, highlighting the widespread fallout of the trade war. China's exports fell 1.3% year-on-year in dollar terms, while imports dropped 7.3%.

As China suffers, others prevail – Americans are buying more supplies from Vietnam, Taiwan, Bangladesh and South Korea as they work to avoid U.S. tariffs on Chinese consumer goods.
