Roger Federers triomfen op Wimbledon
July 2, 2018 - July 15, 2018 - Roger Federer is op jacht naar een negende titel in het mannen-enkelspel, nadathij in 2017 het record op acht zette. Met een volgende trofee evenaart hij het record van Martina Navratilova, die tussen 1978 en 1990 negen vrouwentitels behaalde.

Despite approaching his 37th birthday, Federer will still start his 20th Wimbledon as the overwhelming favourite to clinch a 21st Grand Slam.
Federer won his first Wimbledon -- and maiden Grand Slam -- in 2003. Fourteen years later, and without a win in SW19 since 2012, he clinched his eighth title beating Croatia’s Marin Cilic in a 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 face-off.
Federer also co-holds, with Björn Borg, the record for most consecutive victories with five: Borg between 1976 and 1980 and Federer from 2003 to 2007.
