Trumps Witte Huis krijgt gezicht interactive
November 17, 2016 -
President-elect Donald Trump is expected to announce his top 50 West Wing appointments by Thanksgiving Day on November 24. All Cabinet members must be confirmed by the Senate.
Trump is required to have both his White House staff and the heads of 100 federal agencies in place by Inauguration day on January 20, 2017, according to the Partnership for Public Service’s Center for Presidential Transition.
So far, the president-elect has only made two appointments: Reince Priebus as White House Chief of Staff – the highest ranking employee in the White House – and Stephen Bannon, executive chairman of the hardline conservative news site Breitbart News, as Chief Strategist.
Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama is the leading contender for Secretary of Defence, considered as the most powerful job in Cabinet. The Defence chief is the only person aside from the president with the legal authority to order the military into action and is the official who must confirm any decision by the commander-in-chief to launch nuclear weapons.
