Primeiro ministro Carney convoca eleições antecipadas no Canadá

March 23, 2025 - O novo Primeiro ministro Mark Carney, antigo banqueiro central,
deverá apresentar-se como melhor candidato a enfrentar Trump, quando as empresas canadianas são abaladas pela guerra comercial com os EUA.

Carney, a former two-time central banker, is expected to pitch himself as the best candidate to take on Trump, as the country’s businesses are shaken by a trade war with the U.S.

He also hopes to capitalise on a remarkable recovery by his Liberal Party in polls since January, when the U.S. President Donald Trump began threatening Canada with punitive tariffs and former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his resignation.
