3. Mar 5, China: The National People’s Congress convenes for its annual meeting to set the country’s economic direction with Trump’s policies targeting Beijing casting a long shadow over the gathering

4. Mar 11, Greenland: The Inuit nation holds a snap general election with relations with Denmark, Europe and the U.S. at a critical juncture

5. Mar 9, Canada: The Liberal Party hold a leadership election to replace Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after nine years in power

6. Mar 15, Australia: Gilmour Space Technologies schedules an attempt to send Australia’s first orbital rocket, called Eris

7. Mar 3, U.S.: As indie sensations, musicals and papal dramas battle it out in the most wide open contest for Best Picture Oscar in years, Anora, The Brutalist, Conclave and Wicked are among the frontrunners at the 97th Academy Awards

8. Mar 13-14, Space: A “Blood Moon” eclipse – during which the moon turns reddish – will be best viewed from North and South America. It will be followed by a partial solar eclipse on March 29, visible from eastern North America, Greenland, Europe, north-west Africa and north-west Russia
