By Ninian Carter

December 6, 2024 - El Servicio de Vigilancia Atmosférica Copernicus (CAMS) de la UniónEuropea ha registrado los incendios forestales globales durante2024, resaltando las áreas de actividad significativa.

Recording of wildfire emissions carried out by the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) throughout 2024 highlights significant activity in several regions around the world.

In particular, North and South America experienced intense wildfires affecting the Amazon, Canada and the western United States due to severe drought conditions.

Eastern Eurasia, including within the Arctic Circle, also experienced above-average fire emissions.

Europe saw some significant episodes, such as those that occurred in Portugal in September, and North Macedonia, Greece and other parts of Eastern Europe and the Balkans during the summer months.

As the Southern Hemisphere summer advances, CAMS is closely monitoring bushfires in Australia.
