Estatus de los casos penales contra Trump

By Duncan Mil

September 9, 2024 - El nominado presidencial republicano Donald Trump enfrenta procesos en que se le acusa de una ampllia gama de conductas criminales, durante y después de su presidencia.

On May 30, 2024, Trump became the first U.S. president to become a convicted felon in the nation’s 234-year history.

After a dramatic six-week trial, the 12-person jury found him guilty of falsifying business records in connection with a $130,000 payoff to Stormy Daniels -- an adult-film actress who claimed she had a sexual encounter with him.

By fraudulently disguising the payment as a series of corporate legal expenses Trump was in violation of New York law.

Michael Cohen, Trump’s personal attorney and “fixer” at the time, sent the $130,000 hush-money payment to Daniels in October 2016 ahead of the presidential election which Trump won.

While Trump was president, he reimbursed Cohen in a series of instalments for which he was charged with 34 counts of fraud.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office alleged that Trump committed a crime by improperly recording the money with which he reimbursed Cohen as legal expenses.

Trump faces three additional criminal cases and has denied wrongdoing in each and pleaded not guilty.
