¿Por qué se hundió tan rápidamente el Bayesian?

August 23, 2024 - Los fiscales que investigan el hundimiento del supervelero Bayesian han abierto una pesquisa sobre naufragio negligente y homicidio culposomientras consideran una nueva teoría sobre un evento meteorológico inusual.

The British-flagged Bayesian, a 56-metre-long superyacht, was carrying 22 people and anchored off the port of Porticello when it was hit by the fierce storm. Seven people, including British tech magnate Mike Lynch and his daughter Hannah, were killed when it capsized.

Investigators believe the state-of-the-art yacht sank when it was hit by a waterspout; although it should have been able to withstand the winds, and water should not have been able to enter throughout the vessel in such a short time, the retractable keel was found to have been partially raised, decreasing its stability.
