Temores de violencia política en EUA
July 17, 2024 - Cuatro de cada cinco votantes estadounidenses sienten que EUA está saliéndose de control después del intento de asesinato del expresidente Trump, según un sondeo de Reuters-Ipsos.
The poll signalled that 89% of registered voters surveyed agreed that “acts of violence” were “throwing this country into chaos” during a turbulent election year.
The survey of 1,202 Americans aged 18+, which included 992 registered voters, showed that 58% were “very concerned” about this and 31% were “somewhat concerned” following Saturday’s Pennsylvania rally shooting that killed one spectator and wounded two others.
Trump found a slight lead among registered voters -- 40% to President Biden’s 39% -- while Robert Kennedy Jr. collected 11%.
The poll suggests that a face-off between Vice-President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, should Joe Biden step aside following his disastrous CNN debate on June 27, would find both attracting 44% of registered voters’ support.
In the Reuters/Ipsos poll, 66% of registered Republicans said Trump’s survival showed he was “favoured by divine providence or God’s will.” Eleven per cent of Democrats agreed.
