June 3, 2024 - Claudia Sheinbaum logró una abrumadora victoria para convertirse en la primera presidenta mujer de México, según muestran los resultados preliminares de la autoridad electoral de la nación.

Sheinbaum won the presidency with between 58.3% and 60.7% of the vote, according to a rapid sample count by Mexico's electoral authority. That is set to be the highest vote tally percentage in Mexico's democratic history.

Opposition candidate Xóchitl Gálvez took between 26.6% and 28.6% of the vote, while Citizen Movement candidate Jorge Álvarez Máynez came in third place with between 9.9% and 10.8% of the vote.

Sheinbaum will replace her mentor, outgoing President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, on October 1.
