Pakistan, Iran’s nuclear-armed neighbour, has warned that the “illegal act” - which targeted two sites linked to the Sunni militant group Jaish al-Adl - violated their air space and could have “serious consequences”.
January 15 missile attacks on Islamic State in Syria and an alleged “spy headquarters” for Israel’s Mossad in Iraqi Kurdistan drew outrage from Iraq, the U.S. and others in the region, and appeared to be in retaliation for the double suicide bombing in Kerman that claimed the lives of 80 Iranians.
It is not clear whether Tehran believes Jaish al-Adl - the most active Sunni militants in Balochistan - were also involved in that terror attack.
