January 15, 2024 - Un sondeo entre 14.000 residentes del RUpronostica el mayor colapso en el apoyo a un partido gobernante desde 1906, en que los Conservadores estarían abocados a una derrota electoral.

The UK ruling Conservative Party is facing a wipeout at the upcoming general election, according to an opinion poll of 14,000 residents commissioned by The Daily Telegraph newspaper – the survey pool is around seven times larger than that of a typical poll.

The YouGov survey forecasts the Labour Party will sweep to power with 385 seats (a 120-seat majority and an 11.5% swing) – the biggest collapse in support for a governing party since 1906.

Such is the scale of the forecast defeat, that every historically Labour-supporting seat won by the Tories, under the leadership of Boris Johnson in 2019, will be lost, with 11 Cabinet ministers also losing their seats.

Writing in The Daily Telegraph, Conservative peer Lord Frost described the poll’s results as “an extinction event”.
