Vladimir Putin promete sofocar el levantamiento del Grupo Wagner

June 24, 2023 - El presidente Vladimir Putin ha prometido aplastar un levantamiento armado luego de que el jefe del Grupo Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin tomó el control de sitios militares en un intento de deponer al liderazgo militar de Rusia.

Yevgeny Prigozhin accuses Russia’s military leadership of killing large number of his fighters in an air strike in Ukraine. He has threatened to march on Moscow unless he meets Russia's defence minister.

Wagner fighters are in control of Rostov-on-Don, a city of more than a million people close to the border with Ukraine, and are rapidly advancing northwards through western Russia.

Reports say that Wagner mercenaries have seized military facilities in Voronezh, which is halfway between Rostov and Moscow.
