June 5, 2023 - La policía del estado indio de Odisha ha registrado un caso criminal de "muertes por negligencia" relacionado con el choqe más letal en más de 20 años en India, que mató a 275 personas.

The report filed by police did not name any specific person as being responsible but stated that “culpability of specific railway employees has not been ascertained, which will be unearthed during the investigation”.

Preliminary findings point to a failure of the electronic signal system as the likely cause for the collision.

The impact of the crash threw coaches of the Coromandel Express onto a third track and they rammed into the rear carriages of the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express that was coming down the line at a high speed.

More than 1,000 suffered injuries and were taken to hospitals. Some families are still searching for their loved ones.
